Drilling operations are directed by a Field Engineer or Geologist who examines the drill cuttings and prepare a log for each boring.
The boring log plots depth below ground surface versus soil classification and other properties. Click here to see a sample boring log.
Soils are visually classified in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System (ASTM D2487) with appropriate group symbols shown on the logs.
