Asbestos Testing

Foree & Vann, Inc. offers a range of Asbestos Inspections suited to your needs in conformance with federal, state, and county regulations.

The federal Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) mandates the proper management asbestos in public schools and provides standards for training of workers in the asbestos abatement field. Our personnel include AHERA Building Inspectors and AHERA Management Planners, trained at The Asbestos Institute, who are fully qualified to perform AHERA asbestos surveys and other kinds of inspections.

The National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) is the portion of the federal Clean Air Act that regulates disposal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in commercial buildings and multifamily housing. A NESHAP Building Inspection by an AHERA Building Inspector is required prior to demolition of a commercial building or renovation projects involving demolition of portions of a building. A notification to the County NESHAP Coordinator is required where ACM will be removed and a courtesy notification is usually included in the demolition permit application where materials have been found to be non-ACM. Foree & Vann, Inc. can perform the NESHAP Building Inspection for your next renovation project.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulates worker exposure to asbestos and other hazards. OSHA standards also call for asbestos inspections to be performed by AHERA Building Inspectors.

Foree & Vann, Inc. also offers a variety of Limited Asbestos Surveys tailored to the particular needs of the building owner and operators.

Where asbestos has been found in a building, it must be managed safely until such time as it is removed or the building is demolished. Our AHERA Management Planners can help you to prepare a suitable Observation and Maintenance (O&M) Plan to ensure safe asbestos management.
