Dan Foree and Jeff Vann
met in 1976 while both were employed by the City of Phoenix Materials
Laboratory. Conversation often turned to the idea of starting their own
company. Dan and Richard Miller started "Valley Testing and
Engineering, Inc." in 1980 from a location on 21st Avenue in Phoenix.
Dan and Jeff became
partners in 1982 and incorporated as Foree & Vann, Inc. to offer
Materials Testing and Geotechnical Engineering services from a location
on Mission Lane.
We moved to our present
location on 24th Avenue in 1985 to offer still more services with the
acquisition of exploration seismograph equipment in 1985 and a CME-55
drill rig for subsurface investigations in 1986. A second drill rig was
brought into service in 1998 and a third in 2007.
Our Environmental
Department was created in 1986 to offer Phase I, II, and III
Environmental Site Assessments. The Environmental Department expanded
its scope of services to offer asbestos building inspections from
AHERA-trained personnel in 1992, NEPA compliance documentation for
telecommunications facilities in 1999, and Storm Water Pollution
Prevention Plans for construction projects in 2001.
